Spring Meeting

President-elect Annemarie Delgado called the meeting to order on May 7, 2007, at 8:30 A.M. In attendance were Immediate Past-President Kobby Hoffman, President Sue Robb, President-elect Delgado, Treasurer Susan Meslang, Secretary Gina Corell and over 110 attendees of the conference.
Officers’ Reports
Following the call to order, the Officers’ Reports were presented. Minutes of the VA-SRA Fall Meeting on December 4, 2006, hosted by the College of William and Mary, were provided for review. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes. The motion was carried unanimously.
Susan Meslang was unable to present a final written the Treasurer’s Report. At the time of the meeting there was only an estimated written Treasurer’s Report, due to questions concerning SRA International’s accounting and differences in expected expenditure and asset totals. In addition, there were questions concerning allocation of large expenditures for SRA International staff costs, which were not authorized by the chapter. To reconcile the chapter’s financial records, a motion was made and seconded to request a formal balance sheet information and transactions detailed by month with the assistance of SRA International. The motion was approved.
Committee Reports and Business
Kobby Hoffman as chair presented the Nominations Committee Slate of officers: Sharon Boyd for President-elect and Kate Ferguson for Secretary. Nominations were opened to the floor. None were given. The slate was approved and the officers were elected. A presentation of New Officers followed.

Annemarie Delgado presented the Meetings Committee Report. She recognized the University of Virginia and Program Committee members for creating a successful conference and thanked them for their hard work. She announced the future meeting dates, noting that the scheduling goal was have meeting locations planned two years ahead.

Kobby Hoffman presented the Bylaws Committee Report and submitted the final revision of the bylaws as revised and approved by SRA International Counsel, their Bylaws Committee, and Board of Directors. The motion was made to approve the revised bylaws. The motion was seconded and passed.
New Business
There was a suggestion made that Virginia SRA hold Joint Meeting with North Carolina Chapter. The North Carolina Chapter’s meeting are generally held in March and lasts 2-3 days. Sue Robb will take the lead to investigate the possibility further.
Annemarie Delgado announced that the Virginia SRA Chapter Board decided to make a $100 Donation to the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund.
The application due date, July 16th, for the Travel Fellowship for SRA International Meeting was announced.
In the interest of time, the Christopher Newport presentation, detailing the facilities to be utilized in the Fall 2007 meeting, was delayed until later in the day.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 A.M.
