June 4, 2003 Business Meeting Minutes

The fall meeting of the Virginia Chapter of the Society of Research Administrators was held at the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville, hosted by the University of Virginia.

Betty Browder, President, opened the business meeting.

The minutes from the December 6, 2002, business meeting were provided to the membership. A motion was made to approve the minutes and the minutes were adopted.

The treasurer's report was provided to the membership. A motion was made to approve the report and the report was adopted.

Betty informed the membership that a notebook with information from the recent SRA section meeting was available to review. She also encouraged people to submit evaluation forms to help the program committee plan for the next meeting

Janet Hahn, immediate Past-President, briefly discussed the duties of the officers and presented a slate of officers the membership.

Michael Glasgow, University of Virginia, automatically proceeds from President-elect to President at the close of the June meeting.

Michael Ludwick, The College of William & Mary, was nominated for President-elect and was approved by acclamation.

Lorraine Murphy, Virginia Commonwealth University, was nominated for Secretary and was approved by acclamation.

Ann McGuigan, George Mason University, continues her term as Treasurer.

Gifts were presented to Mike Ludwick and Kobby Hoffman for their efforts on the VA-SRA website and listserv, respectively. Plaques were presented to Janet Hahn, Mike Ludwick and Ann McGuigan for their service as officers.

Richmond was offered as the site for the December 2003 meeting which would be hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University. The site was approved by the membership.

There being no other business, a motion was made to adjourn and the motion was adopted.
